How does metered billing work?
Hatchbox measures usage so you're only charged for what you use

Metered billing is usage-based pricing where you only pay for what you use. This matches what you pay for servers on AWS, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Vultr, and other hosting providers.
Let's say you spin up a server to test out something for 2 hours. With metered billing, Hatchbox will only bill you for 2 hours of usage.
If you run a cluster of 5 servers for 30 days, you'd be charged for 30 days * 24 hours * 5 servers = 3600 hours. Our hourly rate is $0.0137 USD per hour, so this works out $49.32 USD for that month.
Since the number of days varies each month, the usage will be slightly different.
You will receive an invoice at the end of the billing period for your usage. When you cancel your subscription, you'll also be billed for usage since the last invoice.
